LEXINGTON, Ky. (January 22, 2020) – Leadership Kentucky, one of the oldest and most prestigious statewide leadership development programs in the United States, announced Walter Woods, CEO of the Humana Foundation, as the winner of the Lisa Murrell Award, and Tim Kraus, Vice President of Production Operations and Chief Engineer at Louisville Water, as the Leadership Kentucky Class of 2019 elected Board of Directors representative during the Leadership Kentucky Annual Luncheon on January 9th. These honors are voted upon by their fellow 2019 Leadership Kentucky class members.
The Lisa Murrell Award is given annually in honor and loving memory of Lisa Murrell, member of the 2008 Leadership Kentucky class, to the person in the current class who most exemplifies Lisa’s spirit: courage, compassion, selflessness, and inspiration over the course of the Leadership Kentucky experience. Walter’s classmates described him as “an infectious and generous spirit” with an “attitude of service” who “displays a spirit of joy, courage, dedication, and compassion.”
Tim Kraus, the class member elected to serve on the Leadership Kentucky Board of Directors, will serve a two-year term. Tim’s term begins in 2020 as he joins a board of 34 fellow Leadership Kentucky Alumni from across the Commonwealth.
